Senior actor Mazhar Ali, known for his work with Pakistan Television (PTV), passed away at the age of 70 after battling a long illness. According to Dawn News, the actor had been suffering from heart and lung diseases for several years. He was receiving treatment both in Pakistan and the United States.
Mazhar Ali, who began his career with PTV, gained immense popularity through his powerful performances in various dramas, winning the hearts of many. Some of his most notable works include Afshan, Arusa, Shaheen, Kali Damak, and Kaanch Ki Guriya.
According to PTV, Mazhar Ali returned to Pakistan a while ago and passed away in Karachi due to health complications. His sister, in an interview with Geo News, mentioned that he had been dealing with heart disease since 2013 and had undergone multiple surgeries in the U.S. He was also battling lung disease.
Mazhar Ali had been staying with his elder sister in the Nazimabad area of Karachi. He developed a fever two days before his passing and, according to his sister, peacefully passed away in his sleep. The late actor is survived by his widow and three children, who currently reside in Canada. His funeral prayers will be held in Nazimabad, with burial to follow at the Sakhi Hasan graveyard. Members of the entertainment industry expressed their sorrow and condolences over Mazhar Ali’s death, offering prayers for his soul.
