Here are some best tips to keep in mind before heading to that interview of yours.

The Best Ways to Introduce Yourself in Any Interview:

Before the Interview:

When you first enter the building where your job interview will take place, you have to check in with reception. You have to be kind and courteous as the hiring manager may ask the receptionist about the impression, they made regarding you, so be careful.

During the Interview:

Take time to introduce yourself and how you came to know about this job post. Stand up if you’re seated, smile, and offer a handshake as it is considered etiquette. Tell the interviewer how you are pleased to meet them and always make eye contact with them.

Avoid common interview mistakes by not doing proper research about the company, the managers, the title of the job, not dressing appropriately, etc.

Keep Your Introduction Short and To the Point: You’ll be having a detailed opportunity to introduce yourself during the interview because the first question from the hiring manager will be “so tell me about yourself?”

Your response should be professionally describing your key/ main elements of your personality. The professionalism tone by which you’ll be telling yourself would make a lasting impression to the recruiters, and it will be achieved through “practising.

Do your research:

Find out as much as you can about the company you’re applying to.

Control your body language:

Make eye contact.

Make sure your handshake is firm but natural

Speak with confidence.

Prepare your answer:

Keep on rehearsing what you want to say to minimize the chances of errors. You have to remember that it’s not just what you say that counts but also how you say it. Ask questions politely and professionally to make the best possible impression.

After the Interview:

No introduction is complete without a proper goodbye.  Make a good last impression by shaking their hands again and thanking them for their time with a smile.
