Nazia Hassan was born on 3rd April 1965 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. She was a Pakistani pop singer, songwriter, lawyer, and social activist. She was an asset to Pakistan. By starting her career at ten, she made her name prominent among the Pakistani singers. Her popularity expanded across South and South Asia, and she was known as the “Queen of Pop” in the South. Her voice is still ruled over the hearts of millions. And she became the most prominent Pakistani celebrity.

Nazia Hassan Career:
Nazia Hassan is a prominent name of Pakistan. She started her career when she was hardly ten years old. At the age of 10, she made her name prominent among Pakistani singers. She was also known as the “Queen of Pop in the South”.
Nazia started her singing career in the 1970s and appeared as a child star on several television shows. At a very young age, she has given many memorable songs including “Aap Jaisa Koi”, in 1980 from the Bollywood movie “Qurbani” and by this song, her professional career was started. In the United Kingdom, she met Feroz Khan the film director. Feroz requested a music composer of India “Biddu” to have an audition of Nazia.
Her song got extreme popularity and fame in India, and she became famous. In 1981, she received the Filmfare Award for Best playback singer.
Nazia Hassan Albums:
In 1981, Nazia became the 1st playback singer who launched an album “Disco Deewane”. This album broke all the records in India and Pakistan but also in Russia, Latin America, and West Indies. With this album, she becomes a renowned Pakistani pop singer. After this she got many offers and day by day, she became famous.
For her 2nd album Star/Boom Boom, she got nominated in the category of Best Female Playback Singer in the 1982 Filmfare Awards. In 1984, she released her 3rd album “Young Tarang” it became the 1st Pakistani album that was shot in London by Kathy Rose and David Rose. The album gained the status of Asia’s most popular album.
In 1987, her 4th Album was released and that got too famous. She was recognized as the most famous pop singer in India and Pakistan. In 1991, her 5th album “Camera Camera”. After this, Nazia left singing and turned her attention to personal life.
Nazia Hassan Family:
Nazia Hassan was born to an ordinary family. Her father Basir Hussain was a businessman and mother Muniza was a social worker. Her brother Zohaib Hassan and Zara Hassan are also singers. She married a business person Mirza Ishtiaq Baig on 30th March 1995.

Nazia Hassan did her Bachelor’s in Economics and Business Administration from Richmond American University. Nadia has also completed her Law from London University.

Nazia Hassan as a Philanthropic Activist:
Nazia Hassan is also a Philanthropic activist. Nazia used her skills to foster social causes. She worked for women, youth, and children in distress living in Karachi’s impoverished zones. She also supported Indian’s Inner Wheel Club and raised money for this club. She established the organization “Battle Against Narcotics” in Pakistan.
Nazia is known for her roles in The Imitation of mobile clinics in Lyari Town, to make availability of medicines for needy peoples. She visited many schools and distributed toys and many other things to the needy and poor children and expressed her views on the topic of social awareness. Nazia Hassan was diagnosed with lung cancer and died with this disease at the age of 35 in London. She was admitted to North London Hospice Hospital because of her condition. Some recovery signs appeared before her death, but later all the hopes are gone and she dies.
Namaz E Janaza held at Golders Green Crematorium, and in an interview, her brother said that “Nazia died due to pain and she was an unhappy person”.
