In Lahore, Punjab, a recent incident involving the alleged rape of a college student by a security guard has ignited a heated debate. While many showbiz personalities have voiced their anger and called for justice for the victim, others believe that the claims of rape related to the Lahore incident are unfounded and based on false rumors.

The controversy began when news circulated on social media about the alleged assault of a first-year student at a private college’s Gulberg campus. Following the outcry, police arrested the security guard accused of the crime. In response, social workers and college students organized protests, resulting in the detention of 27 individuals by the police.

However, both the police and the alleged victim’s family later denied the occurrence of any rape in the Lahore incident, asserting that the claims were false. Authorities, including the Punjab government and the college administration, stated that rumors regarding the incident were being spread without basis, indicating that no such assault took place.

Several personalities from the entertainment industry, including model and makeup artist Nadia Hussain, actor Mani (Salman Saquib Sheikh), and comedian Shafaat Ali, have publicly supported the idea that the allegations of rape in the Lahore incident are incorrect. Shafaat Ali took to social media, stating that the reports of the college student’s rape are fabricated, and called for the government to take action against those spreading false information.

Nadia Hussain Respond to Rumors in Lahore Incident

In a subsequent post, he mentioned that confusion arose when the Punjab Education Minister canceled the college’s registration after the protests, prompting police investigations that concluded the rape rumors were indeed false.

Actor Mani also shared that he had received information from multiple sources confirming the absence of any rape incident, asserting that the news about the Lahore incident was spread based on inaccurate information. He emphasized that the false news had been circulated without proper fact-checking, naming ASP Shahrbano as a key source in his statements.

Celebrities Clarifies False News in Lahore Incident

In a video message, Nadia Hussain expressed relief upon hearing from ASP Shahrbano that the alleged incident was untrue. She commended the protesting students for their activism while reinforcing the importance of holding accountable anyone who commits sexual assault.
