Gilgit Baltistan is the most beautiful city in Pakistan. It is located in the North of Pakistan and is known as the piece of Heaven. It constitutes with Kashmir, which is the never-solved issue. Gilgit Baltistan is highly mountainous and it covers an area of 72,971 km square. Gilgit is covered with mountains, glaciers, landscapes, and snow. Trekking and mountaineering are the main jobs there. According to the tourists’ perspective, Gilgit Baltistan is the safest place and but some of its places are somehow dangerous, otherwise, it is safe.

Gilgit is a major tourist destination in Pakistan and serves as a hub for trekking and mountaineering expeditions in the Karakoram mountain range. It consists of the world’s highest and beautiful valleys. Three of the world’s longest glaciers outside the polar regions are found in Gilgit-Baltistan: the Biafo Glacier, the Baltoro Glacier, and the Batura Glacier. There are, in addition, several high-altitude lakes in Gilgit-Baltistan. Especially, Gilgit consists of a snowy mountain also known as the killer mountain named Nanga Parbat.

In the year 1970, Gilgit became the separate administrative unit containing three districts, i.e., Gilgit District, Baltistan District, and Diamer District. These three districts contained furthermore sub-districts. Therefore, The Gilgit District comprises sub-districts of Hunza, Nagar, Gilgit, and Ghizer. The Diamer District contains Astore and Diamer as its subdivisions. Furthermore, the Baltistan District encompasses Shigar, Ghanche, Skardu, and Kharmang.

Gilgit Baltistan is home to five of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks as well as having three of the highest mountain ranges, namely the Himalayas, the Karakoram, and the Hindu Kush. The highest mountains here are the K-2, also known as Mount Godwin Austen and Nanga Parbat.

The people of Gilgit are also so beautiful and they have so beautiful children. They have a special dress code. The gents of Gilgit wear various types of woolen caps, they say it’s an honor of a man. They usually wear shalwar kameez and woolen hats. As far as women are concerned, women wear woolen robes with various types of traditional caps. They look so beautiful.

Hunza Valley

Hunza Valley is one of the most beautiful and famous valleys of Gilgit Baltistan. One must visit this valley once in a lifetime. it has many snow-packed mountains. This valley consists of three regions i.e., Upper Hunza Gojal, Central Hunza, and Lower Hunza. Hunza Valley has great attraction for tourists, tourists all over the world visit Hunza Valley.

The best time to visit Hunza Valley is from May to October. When we talk about the temperature of Hunza Valley, the maximum temperature is 26°C while the minimum is 15°C in May and in October maximum temperature is 10°C and minimum temperature 0°C.

Fairy Meadows

Fairy Meadows is located in the diamer district of Gilgit Baltistan. Whoever goes there, comes with exciting and astonishing experiences. It is grassland near the base campsite of Nanga Parbat. The grassland is surrounded by thick alpine forest. The high-altitude area and north-facing slopes mostly consist of coniferous forest having Pinus wallichiana, Picea smithiana, and Abies pindrow trees, while in the high-altitude areas with little sunlight are birch and shrubs.

In 1995, the government of Pakistan declared Fairy Meadows as the National Park of Pakistan.

Skardu

Skardu is a city located in Gilgit Baltistan. Skardu the central valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, is the epitome of beauty, serenity, and wilderness. However, reaching Skardu takes a lot of time but Skardu is worth that time. It’s a beautiful place.

Satpara Lake

A natural lake located near Skardu, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. There is a Satpara dam too in this lake which is fed by Satpara stream. It is 2636 meters elevated and consumes an area of 2.5 km squares. This place is so beautiful and eye-catching. The view is so breathtaking there plus the pictures you capture are the most beautiful part of this place. The pictures you capture feel like you are standing in heaven. Oh wow!

The Khunjerab Pass

Khunjerab Pass is a 4,693-meter-high mountain pass in the Karakoram Mountains, in a strategic position on the northern border of Pakistan and on the southwest border of China. Mutsjliga Pass is a 5,314-meter-high mountain pass at 36.97374°N 75.2973°E near Khunjerab Pass.

Gilgit Valley

Gilgit Valley contains several hot spots for tourists. Among these is Naltar, which is a picturesque region with high mountain peaks and easily accessible glacial lakes. This is the ideal resort for skiing in Pakistan. Another point of interest for history buffs is Kargah Valley, located just 10 kilometers from the city of Gilgit. It contains the rock wall carving of the Kargah Buddha which gives the valley its name. The sculpture dates back to the 8th Century AD. The ruins of a Buddhist monastery and a Stupa can also be found here.

Surrounding valleys of interest to travelers are Bagrot, Oshikhandas, Danyore, and Nomal. While Shina is the language spoken among the locals, people who work in the tourism sector are fluent in English and Urdu.
