WhatsApp is the most popular messenger in the world and not surprising if you use its Android or iPhone app, as more than 2 billion people use it.
That’s why WhatsApp is constantly adding new features so that users do not have to worry about anything. WhatsApp has introduced many new features in recent months, but often people do not know them or do not know how to use them. Here are some new features you may not be aware of.
Disappear/Delete your messages
This feature was introduced by WhatsApp in early November and has not yet reached all users. By enabling this feature in specific chats, messages can be disappeared after 7 days.
If this feature is available to you, hold the chat name at the top of the screen for a while to use it, then turn it on by selecting Disappearing Messages in the options there.
Note that after disabling this feature, messages, photos, and videos from chat will be deleted after 7 days, however, photos and videos will be saved in the phone.
Storage cleaning
If you want to know who WhatsApp is most in touch with, then it is very easy to know.
Open WhatsApp on iPhone or Android and go to Settings, then Storage & Data and Manage Storage. There will be a list of contacts, the chat that has occupied the most storage, the names will appear at the top, and so on.
Click on each name to see how many messages, photos, videos, and animated photos were exchanged. This new feature will also make cleaning storage easier and large files can be deleted instantly.
Make any chat ‘silent’ forever
This feature, called Always Mute, was worked on for several months and was introduced in October 2020. This feature allows users to permanently mute any contact or group notification.
Previously, WhatsApp used to give users who were bothered by constant notifications of a group or contact 3 options to mute, with the help of which the notification could be muted for 8 hours, one week, or one year.
But now it is possible to permanently mute any chat. To use this feature, open WhatsApp and hold down the desired chat for a while, then select the mute icon in the top bar. When you do this, you will see the options of 8 hours, one week, and always, from which you have to choose your choice and click OK.
After doing so, notifications for this particular chat will be permanently muted. However, if the user wants to restore this chat, they have to click on the menu or speaker icon again.
Send audio messages without touching the phone
By the way, this is not a direct message from WhatsApp, but thanks to Google, which some time ago made the process of sending voice messages easier.
To use this feature, open Google Assistant and just say Google Hey, send an audio message and that’s it. When you do this, you will see 2 options of SMS (if it is possible to send an audio messages) and WhatsApp.
Selecting one of these WhatsApp’s will ask you to record a message from Google Stunt and this whole process will be possible only with voice without touching the phone. If you don’t have Google Voice Command enabled on your phone, you can send an audio message directly to a WhatsApp friend by opening the Google Assistant app.
Adding contact with QR code
To do this, open WhatsApp and click on New Chat. Then go to the AdQR Code option by clicking on New Contact.
Then scan the QR code from the device or click on the photos icon at the bottom of the screen to select the WhatsApp QR code from the images.
